89-97 T-bird-Cougar Sport Coupes are
readily available at reasonable prices. They come with 3.8, 3.8 supercharged,
5.0 small block and 4.6 modular motors and can be hopped up easily. Of course,
they have p/s, p/b, p/w, Air etc. later cars also have ABS and Air
bags. |
|
|
Just unbolt front fenders, hood, hinges and
trim front bumper support. This is the only cutting on the car! The radiator,
battery and all mechanics stay in place. The only thing disconnected are the
lights. The car stays fully mobile. |
|
Just unbolt the trunk lid, tail lights and rear
bumper. Bolt on the rear brace as shown. Remove stock
gas door from hinge and trim as required. Our
gas door simply glues and screws to the original
hinge. |
|
|
 |
 |
Our design uses the stock hinges, latch,
solenoid, and weather strip ensuring a much better
seal than any custom built set-up. Also, the quarter
panel skin overlays glue into the original trunk
gap and wheel lip (see video). They start over the
wheel area about as thick as a pizza box
& get thicker as they go back. As a result, very little blending
is required. 3 |
|
The new hood hinges bolt into the original bolt
holes, the hood closes onto the stock '89-'97 latch
and catch assembly. The front fenders, grill shroud,
gravel shield, splash aprons and even the antenna,
bolt and screw on with the stock hardware. |

QUICK INSTALLATION OVERVIEW |
 |
After 30 years of building hot rods and race cars, we
learned what to do, and more important, what NOT to do. When building a street
rod, you usually have to take components out of late model cars and add those
parts to your vintage hulk.
Having built many hot rods the old fashioned
way with -"REAL HARD WORK". We have developed this product that utilizes the
engineering and all the bells and whistles of a late model vehicle, including
disk brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, power windows, digital dash, stereo,
air conditioning and upholstery etc. all in place, yet still has that all
important cool look of a custom.
Our high quality fiberglass components are
designed to bolt, glue, and screw onto the popular 89-97 Thunderbird and/or
Cougar sport coupe. There is no cutting or welding required except to trim the
front frame horns. |
|
FRONT
- Unbolt hood, hinges, 2
front fenders and bumper.
- Trim both front frame
horns even with radiator support
(only cutting involved).
- Install 2 supplied hood
hinges (loosely mount & center hood.)
- Loosely install
both front fenders along cowl area and line up
properly with doors and front of hood.
- Install fiberglass grill
mount/radiator shroud loosely. (5A.)
- Install grill
loosely.
- Install lower metal
grill/bumper gravel guard to radiator support.
- To indicate where to
install supplied L brackets, use a kitchen knife and follow flat section inside
fenders to make small scratches on top of front spring perch & radiator
support.

and tape to establish trunk gap. Drill 3 holes
in rear wheel well to line up with factory holes.
Put small self tapping screws through fiberglass
1/4 panel skins into metal 1/4 panel.
-
With a pencil, make witness marks along and
across thin part of ¼ panel over wheel and check all gaps.
-
Remove ¼ panel, sand inside and out.
Apply 3M 8115 panel adhesive,
spread thin even coat and reinstall using pre-established
position.
-
Install rolled rear pan, do body work on four
small areas.
